Leading contract hire and fleet management specialist, Grosvenor Leasing, is celebrating 40 years of serving companies with vehicle fleets this summer having first opened its doors for business on 2nd June 1981 by its founder Brian Johnson.
Over four decades The Grosvenor Group has grown to become the UK’s largest privately-owned contract hire and fleet management provider and, as well as Grosvenor Leasing, it is now recognised for well-known brands such as Interactive Fleet Management, York Ward and Rowlatt, and Croyland Car Megastore.
Shaun Barritt, Grosvenor Group CEO, said, “In 1981 the leasing model was relatively simple. We provided a vehicle on contract hire, handed the driver the keys and managed the maintenance – and that was about it.
“Forty years on and the role of managing a vehicle fleet has grown in complexity, requiring expertise across the business in many areas including compliance, CO2, taxation, legal, technical, policy, health and safety and many others.
“We are also leading the way with our 0Zone solution to help companies make the smooth transition to electric vehicles, with a comprehensive offering of corporate contract hire, specialist fleet management, personal contract hire (to support drivers who are opting for cash instead of a company car) and salary sacrifice – which is currently the most cost-effective mechanism for moving to ultra low emission and electric vehicles.
“What’s most satisfying is that a large number of our senior members of staff have been with us for over 20 or 30 years – many of whom began in junior positions and are now directors.
