Daily rental lead times affected by vehicle production slow down

With manufacturer production issues affecting vehicle supply, Grosvenor Rental Management is advising its daily and long-term rental customers to plan early for their vehicle hires.

Alison Mead, who heads up the rental management team, said, “The combination of Covid, Brexit and a shortage of semi-conductors is really taking its toll on the supply of new vehicles.

“Lead times are lengthening and that has an inevitable knock-on effect in the rental market.

“As a result, we’re in close dialogue with our rental partners, all of which are major national brands, regarding vehicle supply – however our advice is to plan and book your daily and long-term hires as much in advance as you can.

“Also, if you have historically placed bookings for rental vehicles directly with your chosen rental company, and are now struggling, please talk to us. We have a strong and reliable panel of major national rental companies who treat us as a priority partner and this means we have multiple options to source vehicles and an experienced team who can scour the market through our efficient booking systems.”
